Common student profile

This structuring is the general rule, and it is the one that every VTA Student must follow. This type of student is one who:

  • Does not have any clinical diagnosis that prevents their correct progress.
  • Has advanced in a way compatible with their chronological age in previous years.
  • Has an average equal to or above 73%.

Having said the above, VTA is always open to make the necessary adjustments to best serve the individuality of each of our students. That is why we have three different models that can successfully address three types of special students: students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), gifted students, and students who are dedicated to some special extracurricular activity.

Special Educational Needs

To qualify within this category, it is necessary to have:

  • A clinical diagnosis that accredits SEN and implies the requirement for some adjustment in teaching and evaluations. The SEN addressed are subject to the assessments of professionals in the field; it will be evaluated if the child's requirement can be addressed by the VTA system.
  • An average less than or equal to 73% in previous years. For these cases, diagnostic tests are very important, as they will allow tutors to take appropriate measures in time.
  • A high percentage of absenteeism due to crises experienced in previous schools.

If this exists, the necessary adjustments will be made according to the particular circumstances. These will be made prudently as the student progresses, until reaching the most appropriate figure. The adjustments will concern teaching methods and/or evaluation modalities.

High-capacity

To qualify within this category, it is necessary to have:

  • A clinical diagnosis that justifies high-capacity through psychological, neurological, or related tests. These must allow the student to advance a level ahead of time.*

These students, in addition to having to complete all core subjects, will have the Advanced English subject.

* The validation achieved by the student will be subject to the provisions of the Ministries of Education of each country.

Special Extracurricular Activity

To qualify within this category, the student must have the following two characteristics:

  • Engaged in an extracurricular activity related to sports, music, acting, or another activity.
  • The activity they engage in prevents them from following the standard academic development.

If this exists, the necessary adjustments will be made according to the particular circumstances. These will be made prudently as the student progresses, until reaching the most appropriate figure. The adjustments will concern teaching methods and/or evaluation modalities.
